It was a beautiful October evening and the party spilled into the Loring Park alley. Can you spot Aaron Draplin in the photo above? Hint, he’s in orange (love that guy!).
WDW was delighted to be able to work with a great group of people to bring the TDC 59 (Type Directors Club) exhibition to Minneapolis. The show coincided with the AIGA National Design Conference in Minneapolis. The exhibit opened with a preview party, and attendance far exceeded our projections with over 500 designers, students, artists and typographers from around the country. The postcard invite, on Mohawk paper with beautiful printing by Studio on Fire, was produced as part of the promotion of the event. In addition, we used social media to do what it does best, disseminate information. And it grew and grew from there. It was an exhausting, but highly rewarding project (and party). We’d do it again in a heartbeat.
We couldn’t have done it without our co-hosts; Rat Race Studios, Mohawk, Studio on Fire, Chank, and Chow Girls and an incredibly hardworking group of volunteers. With additional contributions from Boom Island, 2 Gingers whiskey, Angie’s Popcorn, Pearson’s Candy.
