Soil. Earth. Weather. Human hand. Time, smoke and sun. Phyllis Rye Whiskey is a complex toast to this sacred symbiosis. To better the land that holds us, the farmers who nourish us and the days that make us. Each bottle and sip of Phyllis is a holder of stories. A drinkable record of what transpired, here and how, in Vermont. Part of the Caledonia Spirit’s portfolio of Landcrafted™ spirits, Phyllis Rye Whiskey is a journey that began more than a decade ago. After years of waiting it was finally ready. Small batch editions, patient experimentation, it’s ready when it’s ready: the to-market strategy. The goal is to listen to the land and Phyllis (the namesake still), and bottle the very best, not the most, rye whiskey.
This approach required some fluidity in the brand and packaging, allowing each bottle to reveal its relationship to the land, the process, and Vermont. Creating a system for core products, special finishing edition series, and limited barrel bottles, we designed a consistent brand eco-system that can easily grow and evolve as the barrels are ready. Some available now at the distillery in Montpelier, VT, and others not quite ready. Distilling is a patient, inquisitive process. So we wait. An endeavor we’re sure will be worth savoring.
