College of Visual Arts
The College of Visual Arts, founded in 1924, was an intimate art college in St. Paul that had a long history of tradition, with a focus on solid foundation art studies. The identity system was created to reflect this tradition and the solid educational curriculum in a design that is modern and yet timeless. We worked with the idea that a rectangle represents many things in art: an easel, a canvas, a camera viewfinder, a computer, paper, a window. Sadly, after 89 years, CVA closed its doors in June of 2013. A fond farewell to a school that produced a high standard of amazing design students throughout the years.
